WOW – WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES 

A huge “shout out” to those parents & teachers/staff who responded to our plea for help with the 8th grade dance this Friday night. We are confident we now have enough volunteers to make PTSA’s “A Night in Hollywood” a glamorous, fun filled evening for our kids and give them the send-off from CMMS that they deserve!! If anyone else would like to help out, just email us… we will never turn away a pair of extra hands  Again, many thanks!!!

Hi Challenger parents – – 

The CMMS PTSA Board for next year still has positions available.  Debbie Medoro (President), Lisa Wheeler (Vice President / Memberships) and Michele Principe (Treasurer) are in need of a Correspondence and Recording Secretary to join them in completing our CMMS Executive Board.  Parent participation dwindles at the middle school level so… if you are interested, or perhaps know of an incoming 6th grade parent who might be interested, please share this information.  The more help we have, the stronger our Executive Board will be and the more they will be able to benefit our CMMS family!  If you’d like more information about becoming an Executive Board member, please email PTSA at [email protected].  Thanks for your consideration.

2014-15 School Calendar Advertising –
If you’re a business owner and are looking for a great advertising opportunity, please consider purchasing an ad in our 2014-15 CMMS PTSA School Calendar. This is a great source of information and has EVERYTHING going on for the entire school year. Our ad plan (August through May) is as follows:
* one (1) month ad – $10
* five (5) month ad – $30
* ten (10) month ad – $60
We are now accepting standard business cards (2 x 3.5) and ads will be run in black & white. Please send in your business card, which ad plan you prefer and payment in an envelope clearly marked “PTSA School Calendar”. Don’t delay — available spaces won’t last long!! Reach over 1,100 families and share your business with our Challenger families. Thanks for your support. 

CMMS Volunteer Breakfast (flyer below) –
If you volunteered this year, please plan on attending the CMMS Volunteer & Business Partner Appreciation Breakfast on Thursday, May 29 beginning at 9:15 am in the Media Center.

8th Grade Dance, “A Night in Hollywood” –
A dance for our 8th Graders is set for Friday, May 23, from 6-9 pm in the cafeteria. Tickets are only $5 and will be on sale starting Monday, May 19 through May 23, during lunch. Your $5 admission includes 4 tickets to be used for your choice of appetizer, beverage or candy item. Enjoy our awesome DJ, Photo Booth ($4) and a King & Queen will be crowned, plus a small keepsake to take home compliments of your PTSA. Semi-formal dress code & no obligations! We still need many volunteers for this event:
* decorating and set up beginning at 4 pm on May 23,
* chaperoning the dance & selling concessions from 6-9 pm on May 23
* clean up, 9 to 9:30 pm following the dance.
Because this dance is for our 8th graders, it would be really great if our 6th and 7th grade parents could step up to to assist PTSA with this dance!! If you can help, please email PTSA at [email protected].

CMMS Athletic Banquet –
An evening to celebrate our athletes is scheduled for Thursday, May 29 beginning at 6 pm. Dinner will be served in the cafeteria with the awards ceremony to follow in the gymnasium. All athletes were provided with a ticket order form. Please secure your dinner reservations today. Volunteers are needed to help with set up beginning at 3 pm on May 29. CMMS PTSA Membership Drive for 2014-15…

We’ve already had several families sign up for their 2014-15 CMMS PTSA membership! What a great way to wrap up this year and get ready for next  Thanks to those folks who’ve purchased memberships — We appreciate your support!!! Please be advised that the new membership cards & calendar will not be available until the 6th, 7th & 8th grade orientation days in August. At your child’s orientation day, please be sure to stop by our CMMS PTSA table. If you have prepaid, we will have your 2014-15 membership cards & calendar available for pick up. For those who filled out the paperwork but still need to pay, we will have your membership card & calendar available once payment is received.

Also, we’re still looking for a few willing souls to join our Executive Board — We need a Correspondence and Recording Secretary to join Debbie Medoro, Michele Principe and Lisa Wheeler. WE NEED YOU!!!  PTSA is in need of a few folks to help us assist the students in decorating the Mother’s Day cakes this Friday, May 9th.  A creative eye is not necessary :)   Decorating will begin promptly at 2:50 pm (the last period of the day) in the cafeteria.   Even if your child is decorating a cake, we can have you be on the opposite side of the room so as not to ruin your special surprise.  If you can help, please email PTSA at [email protected].
